what is the possessive pronouns?(to study)

Hello classmates, I have a post to help them review for the exam of Monday
good luck and don´t forget to studied much
A possessive pronoun is a part of speech that substitutes for a possessive adjective and a noun. For example, in the sentence These glasses are mine, not yours, the words mine and yours are possessive pronouns and stand for my glasses and your glasses, respectively. Like other pronouns, possessive pronouns can thus obviate the need to repeat nouns or noun phrases. (Sometimes the possessive determiners – my, your etc. – are themselves classified as possessive pronouns
examples:
Can you lend me a pencil? - I forgot mine.
Is this book yours?
Jack wears a nice hat. Is it his?
That is not my sister's car. Hers is red.
It's their problem, not ours
Our house is next to yours
Our city is as nice as theirs
